android - remove only double quotes from string before and after square bracket -

i trying remove double quotes before square bracket "[ , using following code says illegal escape charecter.

  str = str.replace("\[","[");

i want remove double quotes ie " before square bracket ie [. please guide me.

you can use:

str = str.replaceall("\"\\[", "[");
